If you need help finding a way to mix up your workout routine, this book is for you. If you're just starting out and need some preliminary advice or direction, steer clear- it can get confusing in a hurry.
As far as overall workout advice goes, this book contains some excellent advice for thinking outside the box and incorporating new techniques into your workout. As any intermediate to advanced lever weightlifter knows, keeping your routines fresh is very important to the effectiveness of your workout.
To beginners, however, this book is no more helpful than grabbing a handful of run-of-the-mill muscle magazines at the supermarket. The advice can become confusing and, at times, even a little intimidating: how would you feel about jumping right into a program that recommends more than twenty sets per muscle group? Or mega-supersets designed to take a well-trained body to the next level? Many beginners won't even know what these terms mean, and the book totally lacks instructions or diagrams on how to perform most of the workouts it recommends.
As far as nutrition and diet advice goes, there is a lot of information on Met-Rx productsÉand that's it. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it would just be nice to have such an important topic to natural (non-steroid) bodybuilders explained in more detail.
